Conferences & Training CentreAugust 25, 2014 – Marymound kids enjoyed a fabulous day at the ball park courtesy of B’nai Brith’s donation of tickets for an afternoon with the Winnipeg Goldeyes. The classic annual tradition celebrated its sixth year and Marymound was once again one of the service agency recipients of game day packages that included tickets, Salisbury House meal vouchers and souvenirs for the August 24th game.
Through the help of B’nai Brith volunteers, the Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball team, and Salisbury House Restaurants, organizer Earl J. Barish, Chair of B’nai Brith Canada’s National Executive Committee, created an event to allow participants from all backgrounds and abilities to come together for a great afternoon of baseball, food and fun that included souvenirs along with some great memories.
“I had the best time waving my rally towel and cheering on the Goldeyes while eating my favourite food, hamburgers,” said one the 20 enthusiastic Marymound youth.
“It’s very rewarding to be involved with a program that allows those in need to experience and enjoy a well-deserved afternoon out with our exciting Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball team,” said Barish. “It’s a natural fit for B’nai Brith, whose mandate is to promote community service, community action, education and human rights advocacy – people helping people.”
Marymound is very thankful to B’nai Brith and Earl Barish for once again creating a wonderful afternoon for our youth.
