Conferences & Training CentreWinnipeg, MB, August 28, 2014 – Marymound, a leading child welfare organization in Manitoba, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jay Rodgers, M.S.W. as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 15, 2014.
Rodgers joins Marymound as the former CEO of the General Child and Family Services Authority for the past seven years. He brings to Marymound years of related experience, an analytical and strategic mindset, and a commitment to leadership as demonstrated throughout his career. “I look forward to the new challenges of being on the ground level of a service agency with such a fine reputation and history as Marymound,” says Rodgers. “Seeing the direct impact we have on young people epitomizes where I want my career to be at this stage in my profession.”

Since 1911, Marymound has cared for over 70,000 youth and families and due to increasing need, now helps over 3,000 young people annually. Because of the organization’s substantial growth in recent years, Jay’s primary focus will be the maintaining, strengthening and delivering the best core services possible, along with the assurance of a continuum of care for all children and youth at Marymound. Aligned with the organization’s mission and values, the foundation of caring through the legacy of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd will be maintained as Rodgers also concentrates on the unmet needs of the community.

Prior to his previous appointment, Rodgers was Executive Director at the Child Protection Branch, CEO of Winnipeg Child and Family Services, and served in numerous other senior level strategic and leadershiproles in the child welfare system. He continues to teach Social Work at the University of Manitoba on a part-time basis.
