Gimli Ice Fishing Derby

Marymound and Fish Futures are excited to announce that we are hosting our second annual Gimli Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday, March 2, 2024. The derby will be held on South Beach in Gimli with an array of prizes and food available.

The event is raising money for vulnerable children supported through Marymound’s programming throughout Manitoba, with proceeds being shared with our partners at Fish Futures, who supports fisheries enhancement in Manitoba. All net proceeds are distributed equally between Marymound and Fish Futures.

Last year, our first year, we had approximately 1100 participants. Our focus is family fun, promoting the sport of fishing and showcasing Gimli as a four-season destination. The initial participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many looking forward to returning.
