This Is Us: Pathways

At Marymound, education is not one size fits all. Pathways is our off campus high school program designed for students up to age 19 who need something different, something more flexible, and something built around who they are and where they want to go.

Pathways supports students working toward high school credits and, where possible, graduation. In just four years, seven students have crossed that stage. Others have stepped confidently into employment, equipped with skills, experience, and a clearer sense of direction.

What makes Pathways work is the team behind each learner. Students are supported by a teacher, an educational assistant, a work experience advisor, Marymound’s cultural team, and external learning partners. Together, they build a plan that reflects the student’s strengths, goals, and realities.

Some focus primarily on academics. Others prioritize work experience. Many choose a blend of both, weaving in special interests that keep them engaged and motivated. Small class sizes allow for individualized attention, strong relationships, and consistent encouragement. It is structured support with room to grow.

Learning extends beyond the classroom. Most recently, students attended Festival du Voyageur, deepening their understanding of Manitoba’s Métis heritage through hands-on cultural experiences. Opportunities like this reinforce identity, belonging, and community connection, all essential elements of meaningful education.

Pathways is exactly what its name suggests. It meets students where they are and helps them move forward with purpose, whether that leads to graduation, employment, or the next step they are ready to take.

This is us.
